The notebook went to the Textual Documentation and Iconography Service of Museu Paulista in 2004, as part of a collection of documents purchased from Afonso d’Escragnolle Taunay, the director of Museu Paulista between 1917 and 1945. It was preserved thanks to Taunay’s efforts to build a memory that prized the work of the museum’s members. In Aimé-Adrien’s case, the notebook was kept as a remembrance in view of his short life, which represented a family tragedy.
